On the 13th of September we held our annual Summer Flower Show. It all started so well with the Flecknoe Events Committee setting up 3 marquees for us
Sadly, that night we had some really high winds and the scene in the morning was not good
However, the show must go on and with some hard work and only 1 fixing needing replacing, later that day all was well again
Then it was the turn of the Broadwell Flower Show Committee to put up our marquees, a finely tuned team in action
And before you knew it the show was up and running. We are always grateful to our local artisan craft and other stall holders for supporting the event with some wonderful stalls
And of course, what village show would be without some music during the day
We also had some of our local farmers and contractors bring along a variety of machinery
In the middle of the afternoon we were presented with a fantastic rainbow.
Later in the afternoon Martin, the chairman of the show committee, auctioned off the entries to the show. Cakes, vegetables, fruit and flowers were all sold and at the end of the auction nearly £160 had been raised.

Every month on the third Wednesday a group of volunteers run a 'soup kitchen' in the Broadwell Victory Hall. On each occasion we have three or four soups available, made by a handful of local chefs.
This month we had a vegetable, sweet potato and chorizo, pea and mint and lentil and Sweet Red Pepper soups available. Some of the soup makers also serve the soup
In a small community like ours events like the monthly soup kitchen pull us all together and make us stronger.
Every month a Knit and Natter group is held in the Victory Hall. On Wednesday the 7th May the group gathered to work on a variety of crafts, including knitting, crochet, painting, drawing and making pom-poms.
